What Happens When I go to the Chiropractors office

Prior to seeing Dr Tansey we will have you complete paperwork, that takes about 10 minutes, and have Wendy check your health insurance if needed. You can complete the majority of the paperwork by accessing our Forms page.

Your first appointment will take approximately 45 to 60 minutes.
We will spend this time discussing your complaints, and performing an examination to find the cause of your current problem.  The evaluation will consist of general orthopedic and neurologic examination procedures. We suggest that you wear comfortable clothes as you may be doing various maneuvers such as bending and twisting. Snug clothes make this more difficult and uncomfortable. After completion of your evaluation, other diagnostic tests may be ordered. We  will then discuss treatment options and, if appropriate, begin treatment that day. 

Your second appointment usually takes 15 - 20 minutes.
On this visit Dr. Tansey will review relevant exam and x-ray /diagnostic findings with you. He will explain your problem so you understand it fully and will answer any questions you may have.   Dr. Tansey will also give you information for home care, exercise and allowable activity levels. 

Thereafter, appointments will take less of your time, usually 10-15 minutes. During these visits you will receive treatment, review your current progress and possibly update specific stretching and strengthening exercises to promote your return to painless and normal function.  There will also be periodic formal re-evaluations to monitor your overall improvement and update your treatment plan.
